Japanese games Vs Western games

i just want your opinions, which one are better, japanese or western games

For example: RPGs
in my opinion i enjoyed japanese a lot more than western RPG, there are few western rpg that i enjoy, fallout 3 and mass effect, but i love many of JRPG.

Good western game is shooters and action-stealth game like splinter cell and call of duty.

for me japanese ruled almost all genre i liked
RPG
adventure game
Action

some of western game focused on action in the game while japanese focused with story telling.

and best part of video games: Boss Battle, some of western game lack of this part.

 

Japanese RPG's

 

Japanese games are my prefered option.

Rpg or racing it doesn't matter, though I never taken interest in what the country of origin was.

Talking about games, I am still yet to see a good western game. >_>

 

I feel similarly, SoulSin. Very few American studios make the kind of games I like. Retro Studios (based in Texas) did a fantastic job with the Metroid Prime series, though.

 

i found some of them not half bad

 

i like both just as equally. depends on what game actually

 

or genres...
japanese genre ( like rpgs) bad at western( Final fantasy XIII > Dragon age origins)

Western genre ( shooters) still good at japanese (MGS > Splinter cell)
shooter action ( lost planet > any similiar western game like this)
but i've never seen japanese FPS before, there are?

that's why japanese have more awesome developers and more serious in developing games

I've never played a lot of Western games before
Seems there are not many of those on the DS. (I only have DS)

 

I go for Japanese Games.

There are lots of Japanese games that haven't been released into english, and most of it are considered to be a good games,
such as Generation of Chaos series, and Summon Night series.

And lots of Western games are based on Movies.

Well I finished "Generation of Chaos" and I know nothing Japanese besides knowing how the words for "Save" , "Load" , "Yes" , "No" look like (you don't need the knowledge of a language to play games you need the will)

I do know "Save", " Load", "yes", and "No" when playing japanese game
But you need to understand that game as well, if not, you look like a fools. ;D

 

I don't see how :-\ (the story is not that important and almost everything else you can discover by trial and error)

 

IF that so, tell me how to beat the GoC V.

 

I don't know I never playd Generation of Chaos V I playd the 1st one for the PS2 and the one for the PSP

 

i don't like metal gear, or splinter cell...i prefer games like God of War and the Ratchet and Clank series.

not a huge fan of FF...

western developers are just as serious as japanese. how else could they have made God of War? if that isn't serious work then i don't know what is.

 

I never pick which country, if a game is good I'll play it.
Japanese mostly has good RPG games, while Western usually Action, Adventure, Stealth.

But Western people has good RPG games too like Mass Effect ;D
Bioware sure makes good RPG games

 

JPN games for sure. Too many licences issues here in the US.

i don't say all of them, famous developers makes great games like GoW, l4d, call of duties, mass effect, gears of wars and others. but minor developers seems like more lazy....

couldn't say all japanese developers are serious still, nothing is perfect
