We hear much about Unlocks the PS3 during the week, mainly on the vulnerability PSGroove that uses USB for the PS3, that is, all kinds of devices can be used as a jailbreak.

Sony has solved this problem with the firmware that blocks any 3:50 unauthorized device from Sony.
But someone seems to have already found a new way to jailbreak the device, and use an official Sony product to achieve this.

A Sixaxis or DualShock 3 on the PS3 via a USB port may be the jailbreak the device. But it is not so simple as in other devices. A PIC must be installed inside the controller so you need to do some welding.

After installing the PS3 can be started in debug mode, without losing the settings and remaining capable of being updated. This is also confirmed PSGroove not like another, but a new method of jailbreak.

Nice proof of concept! I wonder how many gamers will go to such measure in order to modify their PS3's firmware?

This =/= modifying the firmware. What this is doing is making the console think it's in debug mode, it doesn't have anything to do with firmware.

Yes, debug mode doesn't require firmware check, as for softwares, doesn't require activation Keys, take Office 2010 for example, the Debug mode is already leaked and doesn't require key to activate, it's jut use and no trouble.

But since I never seen a PlayStaion 3 in debug mode, I wonder if with it it loses some of it features?
