itunes songs

    i was just wondering if my i-pod broke, and i was going to buy a samsung mp3 would i be bale to put all my itunes songs into my samsung mp3?

    nope, you can't. itunes uses a proprietary format invented by apple that is loaded with DRM. You would either have to recover all the mp3s from source or get another ipod. This is just one reason of many why the ipod is crap.

    THANKs loony but my frend just read this and was just wondering can't you just burn them to a Cd n put them all back on Window MEdia PLAyer?

    no, itunes moves all the files around and renames them all so they are no longer human readable. I can't remember if it converts them or not, but it certainly adds DRM, so they wont play in media player without the relevant licenses.

    I heard there's something you can do to crack the protection/licenses. I tried ripping the music off a Rage CD and it goes "Go to this site to get a license" or something.

    ^ lol pfft amature...besides iTunes suck anyway, they dont give shit all to the artists. they take it all for themselves.

    Not true, unless activated in options iTunes leaves files in their original locations and if activated simply organises them by artist and album, which is very human readable. And yes you can use the songs you purchased, just burn them to cd and reimport them using your chosen media player. I do this all the time

    haha thanks mainnine this is exactly what i did, last night when i found that you can brun the purchases to a CD, and then just reinport them,

    THANKS EVERYONE NOW i can finally buy a new MP3 instead of an i-pod which costs a hell alot, when the samsun P2 costs a lot less XD
