it's official, sony killing ps3 60gb in europe for 40gb

    it's official, sony will not be supporting the 60gb ps3 any more in europe. the new 40gb ps3's will be downgraded and will be cheaper in terms of the european currency. the weird thing here now is not that it's following what they did in america but the fact that it's going backwards from 60gb to 40gb. here in america, it went from 20->60->80. maybe they'll do the same thing here in america and give a bigger support for the 40gb.

    I'm not sure that doing that is legal, they were marketing it on the strength of backward compatability with the PS2, and if they remove that there will be a lot of pissed off people...

    initially they already done it when they released the european ps3. remember that they said it lacked the emotion engine chip or something like that.
