I am having some issues with the Windows vista home basic, i had to reinstall the software several times and it's becoming more frequent now due to an odd error..., something makes an unauthorized change within the software and windows will not load the desktop, it tells me (only if i am using a theme different from aero and there also issues regarding this too ) that i need to reinstall i do and everything goes fine until the message pops up again.

An other issue is that i am suffering from a notable slow down on the load time of WVHB, it takes about 5-10 minutes to load when i had it originally all it took was about 2-3 minutes, i have my hard with an empty partition and tested XP there it loaded in 3 minutes.

After a long period of subjecting the updates to the Descartes method i found out that it's the update of Service pack SP2 that makes the 'unauthorized change' pops up, this originally was not an issue.

Also after installing an update (i am not sure which one causes it) but it erases the Aero theme of the hard drive and it auto switches onto the classic style...

I am also suspecting the drivers since i usually install all 6 drivers (chip, card, camera, bluetooth, modem and wlan) and when they were installing i was trying to move my folder called xxx xxx from windows.old to desktop when the blue screen popped up.

Also some of this issues started to pop up after i switched from AV.

What i use ATM to protect my computer is: Comodo Fire Wall, Malware Bytes and Avast!(originally used Nod32).

Finally something that has begun to worry me is that i am getting Blue screens, not often but today i had one it said it could be due to either external hardware (burner? mouse? as those are really the only external hardware i use with this thing).

    Some specs of my PC:

Intel Core 2 duo of 2.2GH.

    2 GB of ram.

    SATA 160GB HD.

Intel chip series graphic card and realtek sounds card.

    Any ideas?

Well seeing as how you've narrowed down the issue to Vista SP2, then the solution is simple. Don't install SP2. Stay on SP1 and keep everything else other than SP2 up to date.

Rule of thumb for updating anything:
Don't update unless you HAVE to.

Switched to 7 via DVD update running much more better now, thhorrible thing is that the CD of vista that came is not a install CD per se but a recovery disc and said thing lacks of the repair command.

Also the updates are well done via windows update app that is installed bydefault, which also makes me point an other issue one time the app asked me to install 93 updates it literally hanged, why did it happen? it always went up to 99% of 3 of 3 then re started

One, you don't install 93 updates at once.
Two, you don't install 93 updates.
Three, 93 updates are not needed to use your computer.

FYI if your computer/laptop comes with a recovery disc you are entitled to demand a copy of the proper OS installation media for the installed OS.

it doubles as an installer but i am having more issues by the minute (why my mac had to die? :( ) i am unable to connect via wireless to internet, but mu uncle's laptop and my wii can (i am posting from said laptop) any ideas i have re started the modem, the router... and the driver CD wont boot up on 7 so i am unable to reinstall my drivers for it :/ no idea of what is going on.

and about the updates windows update asked me to install all 93.

i am downgradin to vista and isntall the drivers and see if i can connect, then i will install ESET smar security and check if i can still connect then i will upgrade to win 7 ultimate, but one question, what would be the adequte set up for the firewall?

You need the Wireless/Internet driver that is included with the recovery disc. I had the same issues with trying to run a Windows setup not designed for the computer that I had.

you see my recovery disc only does a number of things, install the software, allow me to make a partition, erase the partition, give format to a partition and update controllers, that is all, the drivers are on a different disc, and i had all those drivers installed before i updated vista to 7, the issue was probably nod32 security essentials busniess edition (the one that is AV+Fire Wall)

You've left me in limbo here. Is the issue solved or not?

50/50, i can connect to internet again since i reinstalled completley the OS, in other words i am using vista, whenever i finish installing vista i end having to install all the drivers and tools, after all that i use the PC (obviously after installing the AV, fire wall and AM software no AS since i go for AV's that supply me with AS) when i inserted my 7 DVD i chose to install windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, after i installed nod 32 security essentials i could connect again, but after i turned it off and then the day later it wouldnt connect, so on that side of the spectrum i have no idea what happened.

I am left with something unclear here...I was wondering if your pc was from a manufacturer's or if you have custom built pc. Whenever I have to do a full reinstallation with my over-the-counter pc I make sure I install Win XP, then add the drivers, and lastly all of its tidbits that go with it without connection to the internet, in order to see if it runs fast enough.

Custom built pc's need a seperate driver disc, usually all-in-one for the chipsets. I am not sure what happened, but I have a feeling that it's the ISP you're located at.

It is not custom built, it's one of those you ask the goverment for, and you pay it on small parts, it has a separate driver disc, that is not only the chipsets, but the drivers for connecting to internet and the tools of the SD card reader my PC comes with.

Nope my uncle PC could connect just fine, mine couldnt.
