okay, this card has been working fine up until today and when i was moving something to it, it gave me an error, it was like " unable to copy data"

and now everytime i place that card into a reader of any sort, it will not pull up, i even use the microsd card reader that came with my supercard and it still shows nothing, so what in the world happen to it?? did it corrupt on itself and am i screwed out of a microsd card :(

its probably worn out. They don't last forever.

There could be a problem with the card reader. Mine stopped working and i just got adapter for it.

And this is why I back up my microSD cards religiously. They have limited write cycles and once they're used up, it's bye bye data.

Also learned that defragmenting them speeds up this process tremendously.
I try to never change the data once it's on there. My 16 GB microSD for my NDS games hasn't changed since I put everything on there.

I once had an issue with a microSD with the same issues, but it was the microSD reader (the one that came with my CycloDS) that was at fault. Taping the board back down and running it without the casing fixed it.

defragmenting microsd cards is pointless anyway. the idea behind defragmenting is it reduces the amount of seeking the read heads have to do to find the next set of data, but as microsds are solid state, there's no read heads and the seek time is minuscule and completely unaffected by where the data is.

well, even with it inside of my acekard it will not pick it up, also this hasnt been more than 30 days but the store i bought it from does not have a return policy on that kind of stuff though :( i really hope it isnt the card itself

its not the reader, i have just tested with two other cards and they work, so it has to be the card itself, i mean it is not being read by any device i have so i guess its dead :( really sucks since i spent a bit for it

try going to walmart or somewhere and getting an microsd card reader or adapter. might not be the card.

    hmm, you sure about this?

i have used 2 different adapters for different devices (Wii, kodak camera, MP3 player ~ SD adapter) ( computer, cell phone ~ usb reader) none of this worked, so i want to verify 100% i would have to get another reader to test this out, cause i cannot think of anything else really :( but it kinda sucks this is the second sd card i have bought within 30 days of each other and they have done this...

wait could it be the reader itself causing the card to short out o_O i just thought about it

It culd be, but I haven't had card problems yet. Just had to change my cardreader.

    Have you tried formatting it?

Yeah, you lose all of your data, but you're in the same boat right now if you don't reformat it...

At least you'll be able to use the card again if it works. If it doesn't, then think about getting a replacement and maybe do something different with whatever you use your microSDs for since you've killed two of them in the 30 day span.

i have tried the format road and my pc does not pick the card up, but im thinking the card reader i have could be the suspect behind this, since i hardly ever had to use it til, so im really thinking that could be it >_>

Well if it can read other cards, then it's the card at fault, not the reader...

no, what i meant was it was is the card reader burning the cards out, as for the card, is there any hope in reviving it? since nothing will pick it up?

I would be inclined to say no.

Before trying to format get a recovery wizard, if you dont have large amounts of data on the SD easus recovery wizard is there for you

software would not be able to help in this if the card itself is unable to be picked up by any equipment >_> i even tested with a kodak camera and the new SD format screen when inserted but it just loops and does nothing

So what did we learn today?
Always back up your shit, especially with SD cards that are ticking time bombs.

Too bad it takes a bad incident to really learn something...

Well, if this helps, i accidentally deleted a partition om one of my hadr drives, and the computer wouldnt read it after that, but a partition recovery program found it and fixed the partion back to what it was, and even saved my stuff. it was the mini tool partition wizard. it might help, it might not. there is a free one.
