well from the word itself, luxury is something desirable but expensive or something very pleasant but not really needed in life. so do you consider video games as luxury?

I personally think no, it's a privilege. or a part of the entertainment industry.

well unless your hobby is collecting free stuff, every hobby cost sicne they require you to buy atleast one thing to enjoy them.... and by cost i mean you paid money for it, no matter if its expensive or not.

I guess by the first definition video games are indeed a luxury.

expensive doesnt necessarily mean money, it means takes a lot of something that is finite, such as time. When Seph and I use the word in conversation with each other, we are usually referring to CPU cycles, or memory.

I dont know why youve singled out video games.Going to a tap and getting water is a luxury, gas, electric,tv,computers, mobile phones-plonking your a*rse on a toilet and using toilet roll.

    Need I say more LOL.

definitely true...everyone here should feel it a luxury to even think about waking up in the morning and also to even be able to have some sort of internet at all. or electricity for that matter.

i could consider some of the things you mentioned as a 'need' in urban places, like gas, electricity, mobile phones, and uhh... toilet roll? only a few days to go and we're on 2010.

I wouldn't say video games are luxury...
Luxury is something that only some people have/can affort , while gaming is quite common.

I would say it depends on where you live.
But then again, the same applies to toilet paper.
