Keiji Inafune left Capcom about a year ago. Mega Man Universe and Legends 3 both got cancelled. We don't know for sure.

The creator has his own studio. Maybe MegaMan will continue, maybe not

what matters is who owns the intellectual property. If I had to guess I'd say capcom does, because when something is created by a company employee the copyright/patent is usually assigned to the employing company rather than the individual responsible for the creation.

Inafune has stated interests in continuing MegaMan development, and since Capcom appears to have no plans for MegaMan, your only hope is that they somehow strike a deal.

Forgetting is something I as a fan can not do. Volnutt was my favorite rendition of magaman. As far as capcom is concerned Rockman is likely gone, however Inafune respects his fans and loves the series he spearheaded. Rockman is his baby so to speak, and while it may take a while, and it will definately take the support of true fans of his work, it is still a possibility to get more of that buster gun blasting fun.

If inafune-san's studio succeeds well enough I have a feeling he would be willing to buy the franchise from capcom, and continue it. Though he also wants to try new things too, so support his endeavor, I for one, if it gets released stateside, and I feel it wil, as He wishes to work together with the west in producing better games on both horizons, will be buying the first game out of his studio. :3

Capcom claims that the megaman franchise isnt dead. I dont believe them however.
