I have been downloading games on for awhile & for the most part I download games that I already own & just want to play on my PC. However, on occassion, I have been known to download hard to find & overly expensive games.

What I want to know is if it is illegal to download these games & if my downloads can be tracked.

    Thanks in advance.

    Post doesn't help.

    Not from here.

Direct downloads can't be tracked unless the downloads themselves were tracked, at most the site would be shut down via ESA request, user's won't get slammed.

Torrents on the other hand can be tracked, since user's upload content, they could be planted with trackers, and thus whoever made them can see your ip adress, you'd be set a warning for downloading illegal content, and your isp would be advised to shut you down unless you agree not too.

    In otherwords...your safe :)

Thank you very much. This is exactly what I wanted to know =)

Well, why don't the feds close this site down then?

It's not up to the feds. It's up to the copyright holders.

And even if they wanted to, they couldn't shut down the entire site, because there is plenty of non-copyrighted, legal, legitimate content here. The only thing they can do is ask Seph to remove anything they own the copyright to. And they do occasionally. Which is why some games when you wish to download them come up as this:

The topic has been discussed to the point where no new info will ever be added, if you wish to read more, use our forum search and read some of the old topics.
