I was reading through the comments for the new Mario & Luigi game to see if there were others who were having problems with the rom, and when I reach the bottom of the page, I see this: While I understand that it would be ideal to direct comments and concerns such as these to the forum by disabling comments on the game, the foul language is unnecessary and uncalled for. It is stated only a few lines above this comment that users are not to be rude or vulgar in comments; the same should be expected of site staff, IMO. Perhaps this should be addressed? Regardless of how annoyed the perpetrator of this comment was at the time, my opinion of this site fell dramatically when I read that, and I've been here around a year now. Aside from this, everything else on this site is presented in a friendly and timely manner and is, for the most part, handled professionally. Don't let something like this mar the site's reputation.
It's PG-13 language used in the correct context And you don't quite grasp the extend of the horrors that were there before. 350+ comments of swearing, yelling, crying, screaming, etc. about the game not working. Coupled with the same thing happening in the Pokemon SS and HG comments at the same time.
It was called for at the time, but I agree that it's unprofessional, so I fixed it up. It will remain locked though.
I once moderated a torrent site, so I know how it is to deal with people who won't listen to logic or reason and people who just don't understand the fact that there's nothing that can be done when an issue arises. But, you still have to keep in mind that it's not helpful to the users to yell at them, and it doesn't do anything but add to the existing problem by being disrespectful to the users. In any case, thanks, Seph, for cleaning that up. It looks much better now. Let's all take a chill pill and play some video games!
