Is there something wrong with the site at the moment?

    I've just paid to become a premium member and purchased extra points and now suddenly I can't seem to get to download anything, the farthest I can get is the screen where you've picked the game for download, but it has said page unavailable at various points in the site, but everything was working fine last night when I first tried it.

    Just want to know whether the problem is the site or something to do with my account, I get the same thing using both Internet Explorer and Firefox

    it has timed out a bit recently, can you try again and see if it works now? Worst case I might have to reboot it, but its looking ok at the moment.

    Just tried again, it let me start downloading X-Com Ufo Defense but then cut me off saying it was completed after only 64kb or something like that.

    open the file in a text editor and tell me what it says if it isn't completely random data.

    that's a different problem, since its a separate server. I'll look into it, I think the browsing problems should be fixed now.

    Opened the file with a text editor, the first thing it says is Rar! after that lots of symbols, the file is about 22kb this time, and again firefox told me the file had been downloaded when obviously it hasn't.

    that was probably because I restarted the httpd daemon. I'm done now, so try again.

    It's timing out now on the download, should I give it 20 mins or so and then try again?
    For some reason my points have just jumped back up from 10318 to 10500 as well and it's not time for them to go up, I used those 282 points yesterday to get Apocalypse which worked perfectly

    Rebooted and waited for 20 mins, tried again now but now I just get a timeout when I try to download

    Managed to get a download starting again, will post when it either downloads or fails again.

    No joy, it managed to reach 139MB this time, but then it did the same thing again, saying it was completed when it was only half downloaded.

    No, trying again at the moment with internet explorer and managed to get to 60% so far on RE Nemesis so looking a bit more promising, could try a download manager if it fails again though if you think it may help

    For some reason the connection between you and the server is getting dropped, it's viewable on the amount of bandwidth we're using so it's not just you, apparently a lot of people are having this problem. Our server isn't stressed so there's no reason for it to drop connections for any reason what so ever.

    It might be the our host who's having problems with their connection, I'll investigate it.

    Using a download manager would at least allow you to start the download again where it dropped off so you wouldn't have to start all over.

    Yeah, hit 80% and did the same thing, will try with download manager otherwise will try again tomorrow. Any free download manager you'd recommend?

    Thanks for the advice, downloaded Tonec Incs Internet Download Manager and it managed to download the full file and did it very very fast. Thanks for all the help and the fast responses ;D

    Sorry for posting multiple time and not using the edit button, I shall make sure I don't do that in future.

    No more problems now using the download manager, if it disconnects it just hammers away until it reconnects and downloads again. Thanks again.
