I was just wondering if there was since the downloads are no longer directly from the server. Don't get me wrong I do appreciate that you guys can still get the downloads, I have no problem with that. I was just considering it and wanted to know if there is still any benefits? ???
No, now that there are no downloads there're no real benefits. You do loose the ads but it's not like they're bad for the forum, we removed pop ups since we didn't have the download server as an expense any more.
Well duh. You don't get to run such a successful website without knowing such basic thing as how ad blockers work. Luckily for us, though, the majority of people don't block our ads, if they did we'd have to shut down. I'm not shelling out $800 a month without any advertising revenue.
Then we'll have to shut down. I'm not running this site without at least breaking even. The hours I've spent on it isn't worth having to pay for.
Hi Seph. You might have this already, but could you place a donate button somewhere on the site. I know many people don't like the idea of a donate button on their websites - but I think people would donate to this site - and if there is no actual benefit to being a premium member this is a nice way people can say thanks for all of the hard work you have put into the site and help cover hosting costs etc. Just a thought.
