you like the computer will ask you how your day has been, and your like it was ok. then the computers like want to talk bout it etc i was just wondering as this would be cool. does it only exist in the movies?
Ask Arnold Schwarzenegger for a copy of the Skynet virus LOL! Just kidding, I don't think A.I. has been developed to that level yet. But, if you want the computer to "talk" for you when you're exploring your files, folders & such, Windows can do that with its Narrator feature. Or, you could get on skype or YM & talk with somebody if you feel the need to speak out & be heard
LOL, seriously? On XP, to get to it go to START > All Programs > Accessibility > Narrator. It'll make XP "talk" or rather read out what ever you hover your mouse onto, or say what letter/s you type out on a document. It isn't perfect though as it doesn't pronounce my username properly which is the word "chaos", the verb "ran" & "Vee low zah"
As I said, actual technology hasn't reached that level yet, & with Terminator, I Robot, the Matrix as well as 2001: A Space Odyssey as grim examples of what maybe why would you want to.
If you can hook up with the developers of the Stronghold PC game, they might share their tricks with that greeting and even worried script they developed. I think they can say some sentences like: Good day Lord *insert name*, your castle awaits you. - they really say your typed name as long as its part of their list of name like David, Edward...and common names like that. When you play at night or midnight, or for a long time it will say: You have been playing for a long time now, Aren't you tired? or Would you like a snack? Well, that the closest thing i could think of that a computer talks to you, greats you, and even worried for your sake.
Vista has "speech recognition", which can do everything from clicking files to typing to running programs! You have to train it to your voice though. A LOT. If you turn on narrator with it, that might work.
Now i remember when i was learning Spanish using Rosetta Stone. There was like a final test where you actually greet and converse with the pictures it shows, like in real life. Like there is a picnic and you ask/answer depending on the situation. Its both fun and irritating at the same time especially if you make a mistake.
I had something like that for spanish too. It was broderbund tho. In the last test, you asked a girl if they wanted to dance the cha--cha, but by accident I said cho-cha instead. The e-girl grimaced. cho-cha is spanish slang for p*ssy.
There is this dude in a the town where i live who had a truck that talked to him. HE could say hi and stuff. tell it to turn up the radio or something.
