is the wood R4 only for the old R4 with the 2gb limit

just wondering if I can use it in mine.. I'm using a 8gb sdhc
not sure if I have a clone or not..the firmware I have right now is the R4 RTS...I'm thinking it's a clone but I'm not sure

 

the original R4 only has a 2GB limit, and is the only one Wood R4 will work on. you can try it, but i doubt it will work....

because team yellow wood goblin won't update their kernel for clonecards anymore,
just for the original cards.

It's awful though with no support. I wouldn't recommend it above even the very first firmware for your cart. There's a .nds file stashed into one of the versions (1.06 I believe) that you can try to use to boot it from your current firmware, but there hasn't been too much success with that.

 

Doesn't it say on the back of the box that the R4 will take any microSD card up to and including 32GB? Mine says that, though I've never tried any other than 2GB. I use wood R4 too.

Clone or not, it still runs wood R4 version 1.09 without problems. It is bound to be a clone anyway because I bought it last year from the market. Real R4's have not been sold for years. But that isn't what I asked.
I asked if an R4 could use a bigger microSD card than 2GB. Maybe you should not comment for no reason when you're bored.
