Is Roxas From KH2 and 358/2 days the same as Ven from KH BBS?

My friend was telling me that Ventus is the same as Roxas. Help me prove him wrong.

In Birth By Sleep, Ventus was one of the main three keyblade wielders in the conflict at hand. Ventus himself, was not a keyblade master, but held masterful skill with the keyblade he held. Part way through the game in Ventus' story, you find that all of the darkness had been stripped from his heart by keyblade master Xehanort, and was crafted into the character known as Vanitas. When the two would clash, they would create the weird symbol pronounced as "ki" or "key" blade. This was to be the all powerful keyblade.

As the two clashed, Ventus showed an incredible amount of resistance. Fighting Vanitas within his heart (while Aqua was fighting Vanitas wielding the ultimate, yet broken keyblade on the outside), he managed to beat Vanitas, vanquish the ultimate blade, but did incredible damage to his heart in the process. Earlier on, when his heart was first in turmoil due to the darkness removal, it found refuge in Sora's heart. After the grand conflict, Ventus' heart, once again, returned to Sora's heart for safety and to repair.

Towards the end of Kingdom Hearts 1, Sora releases his heart to free Kairi's heart (he was rockin' a triple heart basically) that was also trapped within him. He effectively released Ventus' still broken heart too. This heart, although still broken, took home and shaped Sora's Nobody, Roxas. Roxas was a Nobody, but truly, he wasn't. He actually could feel emotions, he was just a little off, presumably because of Ventus' heart not totally being intact. Roxas' behavior and the like alone make him effectively different when compared to Ventus. His ability to dual wield keyblades is also a unique power that could only be achieved by Sora via using the power of his friends. This is because Ventus' heart went back into rest to continue to repair in Sora's heart when the two rejoined.

Ventus himself is within Castle Oblivion in a room that only Aqua can find, but she is stuck in the Realm of Darkness, unable to escape at this point in time for the story.

Really, Roxas and Ventus are two very different characters that just share a likelihood due to the whole heart business.
