is resident evil 4 an extreme horror game?

hi i am just about to get resident evil 4 for my ps2 but was wondering if it's extremely horrific. I mean, i wanna shoot some gorey zombies but i don't want to have the sounds of screaming souls or ghostly images popping out of nowhere doing it.

 

RE4 is so scary that it's not scary. At all.

 

It's not scary. It's just thrilling. There's so much action going on at times, you won't even mind things popping up out of nowhere.

No, it's not scary. Just surprising.

Preety much, only near the end it does become a tad...freaky...at the start when you encounter the plaga's it might be scary.

in my opinion RE4 is the least scaring game of the series (well... RE5 was as well not horrifying. now that i think it, the two are no horror game for me, it was just action)

 

eh its easy to grow use too its not scary unless its the first you every played a horror game it might scare you a little

 

not really scary, mostly juicy action.

few moments are that shocking, there should of been more like the flaming dude bursting out of the fridge. Also, more atmospheric music, it was pretty samey throughout.

 

As long as you are above 5yrs of age, you'll be fine.

 

If you find house of the dead scary, you would find RE4 scary as well.

 

I just played through the first level and i found it very....uh... surprising scary. A zombie just attacked me from the side when i entered a safe shack and literally scared me out of my seat. I hope things like that never happen again

When you get loads at you (try 10) then you'll be scared...ad a chainsaw man (doctor salvador) and you'll be crying....


At least you get a warning when attacks happen (the music changes) but you'll toughed up once you get a shotgun and lots of ammo

 

lugia543, I suggest trying a more sedate game, Barbie goes shopping is a good one.

well ho-oh, i mean lugia, it depends upon you. resident evil 4 is still under survival horror, though i cannot call it extreme horror since it's a mix of action and 3rd person shooter. well, it's really fun you should try it, you'll miss half of your gaming life if you don't =P

no worries, ghosts are only present in resident evil 3.5, not on resident evil 4.

omg. i guess you wouldn't even stand a second once you saw a regenerator. i suggest you stop playing resident evil 4 lol

 

nah I really like it now. I just obtained my shotgun from the 2nd level and that level was TOUGH (somewhere about 15 zombies came in packs of five and I only had 30 bullets of ammo)!
