is lga 775 being replaced by lga 1366?

    if lga 775 is being replaced by lga 1366, would that mean intel would no longer be making cpus for the lga 775 sockets? would that also mean that the penryn are the last processors that they will ever make?

    eventually yes, currently only at the higher performance end of the desktop sector. As for the penryns being the last LGA775 processors, I don't know at this point

    Intel is already planning a new socket (H1). Seems like LGA1366 won't have a long life.

    I'm sure they'll still make processors in the LGA775 spec, like newer celerons and chips like that, but all the manufacturers are always looking two or three chips ahead
