so i have had this logitech media play mouse for about three years and the thing has become indespensible to me. the problem is that it wasnt that indespensible to my girlfriends dog. needless to say i was really pissed to find that the dog had knocked several of my programming books onto the reciever of my ever so valuable mouse and since logitech no longer makes any of the media play mouses i dont have the option of buying another one(plus i am pretty broke) so is there any way to find a replacement dongle or am i now forced to commit the unthinkable tragedy of finding a new mouse that wont even suite my needs?

guess you have to get a new mouse then. You might be able to find one the same on ebay or some similar site.

Chances are on Ebay, craigslist, or something similar you can find the same mouse that you lost, or even better, the same receiver you lost.
