Just yesterday I saw a person weighing japanese yu-gi-oh card called Starstrike Blast in a store(outside America). So I decided to take a peek. While he's weighing,I asked him what was he doing. He said he is scaling them and said that the heavier the better. But somehow I don't believe him until he opened the packs that he bought,I saw a few synchro card(maybe 3/7)but can't recognise them because he was blocking the picture. So is this method called scaling?

Eventhough it works for him,I somehow find it cheating for me.

if he have a micro scaler, yes it would as foil card is heavier then normal card. but it not much and its undetectable with normal scale, because the differ only couple of micro gram.

You'd need a really sensitive scale, one that measures to probably micro grams. But yea, this trick guarentees a rare every time.
