If it does or doesn't, buy the phone ASAP before they get a chance to update the damn thing further. I'd buy it with 3.1.3 and then WAIT until they release a hack. If you wait and buy the phone by the time they release a new hack, it could already be updated and the method wouldn't work. All over Rock and Cydia, they are all saying DO NOT UPDATE to 3.1.3. I haven't read it, I just know not to update. I don't even know what firmware I'm running...lol
lol man.. a Jailbreak was released just like 14 hrs ago or something.. The site is www.spiritjb.com EDIT: The Jailbreak works for Ipod touch 2g/3g and Iphone 2g/3g and 3gs i believe. I have an ipod 3g and i managed to jailbreak couple of hours ago on OS 3.1.3. So yea this your chance to JB it now if youre stuck on 3.1.3.. before apple gets smart and releases a patch.. and you accidentally upgrade.. Also The spirit Jb pretty much works like Blackra1n. Ps: If you know how to save your SHSH on sauriks server i highly recommend doing it. Firmware umbrella is the best software to use. 2nd Edit: OH and its untethered! Happy Jailbreaking
sounds awesome. Should I buy a 3g or 3gs? (I don't wanna bother with 4g) 3G is way cheaper than 3gs so... I'm wondering if the extra money is really worth it... edit: can you unlock the phone with that spiritjb thing?
i'm pretty sure its only a jailbreak and not an unlock. Unfortunately i think they only intend to release an unlock when OS 4.0 comes out
What iphone were you planning to get? I am pretty sure you can unlock 3g and 3gs using snowbreeze with redsnow. though i am not sure seeing as my knowledge with iphone jailbreaking is limited.. Spirit jailbreak has been released, which supports all itouch/iphone devices, but there is no unlock capability.
How do you unlock a 3.1.3? is it possible? Or how do you do unlock any previous firmwares? My dad just went to the hell with it and bought a brand new Iphone from a swedish telephone subscription company, so it's locked. But I have no idea what firmware it has...
iPhone 3G/S 3.1.3 firmware can only be ran on AT&T. You have to wait for an unlock. There is an iPhone unlock for lower firmwares, but not for 3GS, and you need blackra1n.
I've been looking around, and you can unlock a 3GS , but yeah, it has to be a lower firmware. How do you update an Iphone from FW 3.0 to FW 3.1.2?
