    All right.

I got a copy of the IPB for personal purposes. Don't ask me where I got it nor ask what I'm gonna do with it, because the answer is "throw in the trashbin if I can't fix it."

I've installed it, but now it gives me this error all the time:
    Code:
Could not determine your IP address
I've tried to install two versions. The version that actually installed was 3.1.2. The other one gave that error at the installation's beginning.

Now my question is...how to solve this?

it probably needs setting in the config file.

Any ideas where it is located? Global_conf.php doesn't cover anything of the sort.

Ugh, IPB totally sucks ass :p

The local host of the MMORPG I play uses IPB as their forum software & it often has issues like the notorious "IPS Driver Error" error message. And for a local forum it loads slower than RomUlation (using SMF) which is an overseas forum.

I'm collecting forum software in case I'm in need of some :p
I like messing with local copy's before I actually implement ideas on my online forum.

    Lessee what I've got here...

    phpBB
    SMF 1
    SMF 2.0 RC3
    SMF 2.0 RC2
    MyBB
    vBulletin
    YaBB
    Invision Power Board (broken)

Of course I've got alot more CMS systems etc installed on this thing :p

ROFL at phpBB & vBulletin, two other "more popular" Forum software that as loony & seph defined as "security unfriendly".

    What's with it? :p

I'm just using them for local purposes. Having it doesn't mean that I'm gonna use it on my site :p

    No, I'll stick with SMF.
