There are pretty lots of things that can affect that. You could probably specify your browser and its version (check the help, about) and internet connection speed for easier troubleshooting. :)

Avira sucks, you maybe have a virus. I have something similar when my PC gets infected with the conficker virus (i used avira too when it happens) I wasnt able to surf on many websites with antivirus softwares. Use another program like kaspersky and scan your PC again.

I hope this was a lesson in "not using avira anymore" for you! Life is better with a good security (and a working trial reset :p)

I would put Avira in the top 3 Antivirus, with only Nod32 and Kaspersky above it.

wtf? norton, avast, panda, bitdefender, f-secure, gdata... Near everything is better than avira. But in one point youre right: kaspersky is one of the best!

Avast is good in terms of detection rates, it is just insanely slow at scanning.

Avast is a very popular free AV,but according to test results,it is inferior to Avira in almost every department.Thats scanning time, detection rates and picking up false positives.
If people think Im wrong, thats up to them ;)
