I got Windows XP installed on VirtualBox so I could play Halo 1 (I run Linux as my main OS). When I went to My Computer it didn't say HALO was in the D drive; rather, VBOXADDITIONS_4. I ran it, and it was some VirtualBox installer thing (no real idea what it was). Rebooting the computer didn't make it go away, so I tried getting on the Internet to figure out how to do that. This is a recreation of what happened: Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks for answers.
do u have latets version of virtual box? and that usually happens when something needs somthing else to open wiith (dont know if thta means u cant run .exe files)
virtualbox addons is a set of programs that install into the guest os to allow you to copy/paste between host and guest, among other things. You will not be able to play halo in a virtual machine as the virtual graphics card in a VM has very limited 3d capabilities.
