It seems microsoft has taken another step in phasing out XP, those of us who still run it will not be able to install IE9.

I'm not entirely sure if this just applies to the beta, or the program entirely

i'm sure if you look hard enough, you can find a patch to make it work :p like with Windows vista, they had a program that gave you an animated desktop, i can't remember the name off the top of me head though...but there's a patch to make it work in Windows 7 :p

The only thing I like is the design.

Not gonna bother searching for a patch. As soon as I get my new PC I'm putting 7 on it

IE9 is at least better for web designers, although I don't even bother designing for IE7 and under. So far it handles HTML5 and CSS3 well.

I'm obviously getting it because Internet Explorer is obviously the best browser built.

The browser actually seems damned fine.

actually it isnt. Every version of IE breaks different things, and breaks fixes that worked in previous versions. So even though 9 might be more standards compliant than the other versions, it will break all the IE specific fixes for existing versions.

Chromium is by far the superior browser.
IE9 is just a stepping stone in browser and web development.
