Okay. We all know having a Custom Firmware to play Free Games on your PSP is illegal. But I find out, everyday, more and more people are doing this, but not even knowing it!

This is a scenario when I bought my PSP 3000.

"I'll need your Memory Stick to install some data in order to play your games." says the man.
I say "That's alright, I'll wait.", knowing that he's going to install a Custom Firmware.
"This official application by Sony will take awhile to load, because sometimes it freezes. When the screen goes all green, it's loaded." says the man, and I know it's ChickHEN. So I say,
    "ChickHEN, right?"
The man replies "Yes. How do you know?"
I reply "I always updated my old PSP with the latest Custom Firmware."

It seems all fine, but then the man says the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.

"Don't do that! It's wrong and Illegal"

Then the man goes to install 5.03 GEN-A, because back then, Gen-B and GEN-C weren't out yet.

... Seriously?! They install a custom firmware for me, which is good, saves me the effort and whatnot, but he not only claims it's LEGAL, He says that I shouldn't mess with those custom firmware stuff, as it's illegal.
    ----------------------------
And at a different date in a different time, I spotted a scene at another shop. This 15 year old boy was waiting for something. The merchant was installing a custom firmware, but then I heard the craziest thing ever.

The boy goes "How much for this game?"
    "5$" Says the man.

So I was SHOCKED that they were selling games for 5$.
So I tried it out. I looked at the library of UMDs, and they were all above 20$. So I asked the merchant

"I heard the games cost 5$ over here. The UMDs clearly are above 20$"

He replied "The 5$ games are downloaded from the laptop onto your PSP."

Okay. Then I thought it was bought from the Playstation Network, (Note that last time I knew almost nothing of the Playstation Network) but I found out, when I got back home, the games' names consisted of the famous uploaders like "Hako" and some other people.
    ------

Selling the already free games for Money? That's really wrong right?! I don't see how that can be allowed.

And if the merchants are MAKING US Pirate, I don't see anything fair in that. Shouldn't we be given a choice?

You living in Singapore instantly invalidates your rant. Damn near everything there is bootlegged somehow.

    Damn, I just realized that.

Since everything, even my iPod, is from Hongkong or China.

    First of all...

His claim about custom firmware being illegal isn't, it is perfectly legal, just what people use it for isn't, like emulators, legal to have and use, but the games are another story.

As for charging for pirated games, it's for convenience, I have a mate who sells anything he's downloaded...you name it, he might have it.

I only say that because a "raid" of ours revealed gay porn when he claims he isn't...suspect much ::)

Living jokes aside, while I find selling downloaded games immoral, it's still as bad as downloading them yourself...if you bother to find that hard that is.

Same for any asian country really.

Look at australia-or "australasia" as some say...don't know if it's because I'm half myself but we have alot of bootlegging going on...you just gotta know where to look.

To any pirates out there...HURRY UP WITH FREE PS3 GAMEZ!!!!!!!!!!
