OK, I've seen a video (link no longer available) of a guy that was able to, after connecting an untethered jailbroken iTouch, he was able to drag and drop apps onto it, then instead of the program installing the app, he went in to Installous and was able to install the apps. How would I go about doing that? I have iFunbox and can't figure/read/research how to go about this. Is there a different program I should use to add apps that I downloaded from my computer to my iTouch? I had been downloading right through Installous, but when I could never get Infinity Blade (I and II) to finish fully downloading, I researched how to add from a comp. Also, when an app I downloaded that is cracked gets an update, is there a way to update it without needing to go and find a cracked copy of the next version? So far the best thing I've learned about is Updatr, but I've no luck with it yet, and Unblock Me is due for an update to 1.3.2
when i had an ipod. what i used to do was first drag the .ipa files to itunes. then drag the files from itunes to the ipod
What I have always done with my jailbroken iDevices was just download the cracked .ipa from AppTrackr, saved the file to my desktop, opened an SSH connection to my iDevice through my network to the file directory /var/mobile/Documents/ Installous/Downloads and copied the .ipa there. After a minute or two, depending on the size of the .ipa, it would be done. I would terminate the SSH connection and load up Installous on my iDevice and scroll through the downloads and select the newly copied .ipa file and install the app. I hope that this helps and if you have any questions just post them here. Best of luck, miros
hrm. just the other day i found a vid that someone downloaded an .ipa to the computer, then double-clicked it, and it opened in iTunes successfully. i was able to do that with an app that hasnt been updated in years i think (Qbeez). Must try w Unblock Me to see if that works. Also, ive seen many programs for ssh that need wifi. do you have a fave of any that can sync just through the cable w no need for wifi, or should i just pick whichever?
I have always had great success with CyberDuck, and for your iDevice I believe that you have to install a system file called SSH Blowfish (I am not sure of the name, just look for it on Cydia's homepage - it should look like a puffer fish with sunglasses). You will have to have a wireless network to SSH, however almost all modern computers have built in modems with the ability to signal out a WLAN. I have read briefly about using a cord to transfer files from your compouter to the iDevice, however this was years ago, and the software seemed very cumbersome at the time. Maybe wired transfers has progressed to be more user friendly, however I can speak from personal experience that SSHing is very simple and there are many great tutorials on the Internet to guide you. Best of luck, miros
Not at all true. virtually all laptops and netbooks have built in wireless capability, but the vast majority of desktops do not. additionally, no modem is involved at any stage of the process, WLAN is a digital technology, while modems are for connecting computers to analogue networks.
>.> of course its only now i find <url=http://jaxov.com/2011/04/install-installous-cracked-apps-on-iphone-without-wifi-access/>this </url>out. Anyone try something like this before, so i know if it's reliable or not?
recently ifunbox added an application or whatever to their interface that adds the app for you. the only thing that ive found with this is that i cant update the app, so if any kind of update comes out, i need to redownload from the computer
You guys are all missing a crucial part in Installous. Appsync. No SSH bullshit. Just install Appsync for your specific firmware using Cydia (from the hackulo repo), and iTunes will sync your .ipa files.
You can kick any OpenSSH cydia app out the window as well, because iSpirit (or others like it) is a Windows based OpenSSH, drag and drop (no code required), and work with any jailbroken iDevice.
Whichever works for you. As long as you don't need to install anything using the iDevice. I remember iFunbox being a bitch when it first came out. Nowhere near was it as user-friendly as iSpirit. But that was ages ago and it seems to be much easier to use now. I switched because there were a few specific things I couldn't transfer/install with iFunbox. Also, iSpirit has an install .deb function, which is nice for Cydia apps that you grab off of your PC.
