Ok i am using windows xp service pack 3, and recently my avira would not open on start up, so i tried double clicking the icon, it went to the hourglass for half a sec then was like I never clicked on it again. Then I try restarting twice, booting in safe mode but still it won't open

I think the reason MAY BE that I have recently spotted a few viruses or things that arent NORMALLY there while opeing task manager. I spotted: SYSDLL.exe, pp10.exe, Id08.exe, st.exe, and another long one that I can't really spot because it stays up on startup for about 3 seconds then disappears.

This is very very weird... whenever I use a search on the google search engine and click a link, it directs me to a completely random site. But I can type in a link on the browser and it will work. But I dont know what to do right now because i cant even open my anti-virus anymore. i checked for avguard.exe in task not there. Nothing of Avira is there. What exactly am i to do right now as I can't scan with an anti-virus?

try killing those processes you named, or boot into safe mode and start the AV in safe mode.

didn't work in safe mode, however I used malwarebytes and it took care of it. Avira works again!!

you should check info about what they do before you get rid of them

the ones stated have suspiciously formed names, as if they were formed following a pattern. sysdll.exe sounds like its a system executable; it isn't therefore is most probably a virus trying to look inconspicious.

Seems everything was fine yesterday, but when i booted my computer again today, Avira Antivirus stopped opening again.... And it won't open at all, even in safe mode.

As of now, no suspicious processes, just the regular processes that usually show up.

Tried a clean re-install, it still won't open.

Did you try scanning your computer with another (online) virus scanner?
