playstations have a protection system which prevents burnt copies from being run, there are various ways to bypass this protection, one I know of is getting a chip which disables it for you. However, I'm sure there are members here who knows far more about this issue than me, they might have a better solution.

umm yeah im still stuck. i borrowed one of my friends ps one and he had it chipped but when i burnt the game after i extracted the ISO it still didnt work. it showed the playstation title scrrn with some scrambled up letters. Also what is a .ccd , .cue and a .sub ? do you record these onto the disc as well?

you HAVE to burn the disk using CloneCD. It will use those other files when burning.

@ Rom Master: Thank you for your considerably informative post; I will probably sticky it somewhere.

EDIT: Moved and sticked post; thank you. Can now be found here: https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php/topic,70.0.html

OR... just play them on an emulator. The psx emu runs quite nice.

no..no. :'( my megaman X4 game is a .iso file and cloneCD cant read the file  what can i do so cloneCD can recognize it cause it just knows how to open .ccd files?

if cloneCD can't open it, burn with a different burning program. The reason I told you to use cloncd before is because .ccd/.cue .bin etc is clonecd format, nothing else can burn that format properly.

when I used to burn psx isos I used Fireburner, it always worked.

Another great application for cloning PSX CD's is Alcohol 120%, I don't know if 52% comes with the same features, but it has presets for ripping many kinds of CD's.

52% is a cut down version of 120%, therefore will have fewer features. The main downside, however, is that you need 120% to play the ripped games, whereas many, if not all, PSX emulators can natively read clonecd format; and all decent ones can natively read ISO format.
