Im unfamillar with the card, but download winrar and extract the .nds file from inside the rar file and copy that to your card.

Winrar doesn't support mac, you'll need a program called Rar Expander.

You can't, use Google, yes, and www.r4ds.com.

when i get this is it as simple as downloading the rom, and draging it onto the card?will i have to do any coding or anything?

I can't say that M3 or R4 are better than each other. Both serve a purpose, and both will serve it to you better than that Datel Games 'n Music card you bought.

Personally, I own an R4, and it does what I really want it to do, and it does it well.

As for putting games onto whatever card you choose to replace that GnM card with... in the case of the R4 and M3, it's usually as easy as Download, Unpack, and Drag.

Keep the Datel card on hand, though. If you like music or decide to get into the homebrew realm (Google for "DS Homebrew" to get started), it's easy enough to use that card for the homebrew stuff, especially since most homebrew tends to be smaller in filesize than commercial games.
Heck, grab emulators (A NES emulator, for example) for the thing, and use it for that, too. It works well for that.

    Just my two pebbles, though.

As long as you already have the MicroSD, YES.
