Here is a map of the NTSC and PAL regions of the world - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File%3APAL-NTSC-SECAM.svg

If you live in the US and Canadia, then you have NTSC.

Durr...I know that. What I mean is, is the SITE selling the NSTC or PAL version of swap magic? There's two versions. And If I get the PAL it won't work in my NSTC PS2. I couldn't find any indicators of one or the other.

    Well, I don't know.

And you sound like a pampered smart-ass when you reply to people that way.

    EDIT.

Well, judging by my swapdiscs and the picture, it says USA, so it's for NTSC.

    Err...sorry.

Anyways, thanks for identifying that! Image was too small for me to see...no, aah! The BLUE ones are pal. Thank you so much, and sorry for sounding like a jackass.

Totally unrelated, but as this thread has served its initial purpose...

Would Swap Magic be all I would need to run back-ups (well, burned games in general :p)? I understand I would need to get the proper version for my model of PS2, I just would like to know if this would basically be all I would need.

Swap Magic and a card slide or a flip-top lid as well.

    That's about it. :)

I use Swap Magic and a flip-top lid for my PS2 Phat.

Would this work at all for a PS2 slim? I understand that obviously some exploits were fixed with the introduction of the Slim, so I want to make sure I'm not getting anything useless once I decide to do this.

It says that it's compatible with every PS2 on the market, so I would say so.

Interesting. I'll eventually have to pick up the correct version of Swap Magic then.

I've never ran into a game that hasn't worked so far.

You can get any CD/DVD version of swap magic. Unless you're willing to sacrifice compatibility for DVD9, get swap magic 3.6 and the magic switch pro set v4 (with slim fixes). Depending on your model you also may need a flip top lid, though if you've got a spch-9xxxx like me you're good :D

What I'm getting (would work for you too but you might need more) http://www.techloops.com/ps2swmav32pl.html

    And it's NSTC :D

What model of PS2 do you have? (Just basic, ie: Silver Slimline, Black Slimline, Phat)
If it's a Silver Slimline, and that works for you, then it should work perfectly for me.

Edit: In case it's needed, the model number for my PS2 Silver Slimline is: SCPH-77001

Mine is a spch-90001 and is a top loader, so I just need the sensor mods found in that pack. You probly need the sensor mods too (mainly the spch-7000x one). Now, you CAN get v3 instead of v4 for yours, I think, but with v4 you can close the ps2.

Okay, now one more thing...(since I can't seem to research it); Is your ps2 a top-loader (pop games in like a ps1) or a side-loader? (opens like a dvd tray). If you've got a side-loader, you MAY also need a flip-top lid, which makes your ps2 a top loader. AND BY INSTALLING THAT YOU MOD YOUR TWO. If you are still under warranty you may want to try something else, but if it's run out, go for it. Heck lot easier than installing a modchip.

This is your model, i think but I can't see if it top loads or not. I can help ya more once I know.

oh and this is the fliptop lid modded onto a two.

It's a top loader for sure. From what I could tell, the flip top is an alternative sensor blocker. I can't find a flip top made for the silver slimline though, so if that set-up can block the sensors, then I should be set.

Yeah, you can order the set i got then. You definitely need tool F and it should tell you if you need any others, v4 has every possiblly necessary blocker. Its sorta like the tape and tissue mod but safer and actually built to fit in. Though I hear the 9000x sensor mod is a bit shaky, it works. Go grab the pack and boot up some awesome.
