Sony claims that they will actually do that. I'm curious about battery life, a powerful handheld device needs a very powerful battery.
That would be a GREAT idea... if not for one thing. You would have to buy the game twice. And well I speak for myself on this.. but I'm sure others would agree, Buying the SAME EXACT ******* GAME for two consoles, is a waste of money. Since you will likely be able to plug the NGP into a TV and play on the TV. Theres no need to have the same game on the portabl and the PS3. And I likely wont buy the NGP. Sony has been a huge disappointment lately.
I lol at the fan boy hate. The 3DS will still sell better for the fact that it's Nintendo. The NGP could be infinitely more powerful, it doesn't matter. Nintendo has a very substantial fan base for their hand held systems that has held strong for 20+ years, while Sony is still a new comer to the whole idea releasing the PSP to compete with the DS that released just over six years ago. Anymore, people will buy the next Nintendo hand held just because it is the next Nintendo hand held. On topic: You wouldn't have to buy the game twice; it's why you have a Playstation store account that can be accessed from both the PS3 and PSP. Even now, say I buy FF VII on my PS3 from the PSN. If I log in to the PSN on my PSP with the same account, I can then download it to my PSP, but that puts another strike onto the download limit. Really though, so few are going to own both a PS3 and a NGP, this isn't much of an issue.
Nathen... you do realize I was referring to the fact that sony would release the game twice, once for PS3 and once for NGP. IF they were to allow that kind of feature. But no, chances are handhelp and console will likely NOT have games in common.
Sony is already implementing this feature. The first game that's going to be released is Monster Hunter Portable 3 (or whatever). It'll be a HD remake on the PS3 and you'll be able to sync games between your PS3 and PSP. Source: http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/23/sony-to-remaster-select-psp-titles-for-playstation-3-allow-cros/
This is probably because the PSP is nearing the end of it's life. While it's still selling in Japan, that's about the only place it's still selling extremely well. Also I hope to god for PS3 Peace Walker, it feels like it should be on the console.
I disagree. The world of gaming is not going about how much you can do with a console, it is about the games.
