I wonder why Monster racers and Pokemon have alot in common..

i really think that they have a lot in common
like the racer union rhymes with Ranger union
you got to pick from three starters just like pokemon
and racer union is like a pokemon center cause they heal your Monster and you can't use the escalator to the right at the beginning JUST LIKE POKEMON!
i don't think this is a coincidence...... what do you think??

It's a rip-off?

I'm not going to play it...so that's all Imma gonna say.

 

There are a lot of things in common, but you can't escape the fact that the gameplay is TOTALLY different.

 

I don't mind, I like it

 

another thing they have in common is they are addictive

 

I love this game, even though it does seem like a rip-off from pokemon.

 

I would like to point out that Monster Racer was first released on the PSX in 1998 in Japan.

I'm quiet pleased with this new release, and I'm sure anyone playing the game can feel a certain Pokemon feeling, but let's not forget Pokemon wasn't the first monster breeding game, at least for those that lived the NES era and maybe even before.

Anyways, Does anyone notice that the Pig pet's voice greatly resembles Maplestory's Squid monster? I forgot the name of it.

 

I don't like Pokemon but Monster Racer is awesome, who care if it's like Pokemon or not

No Monster Raising game is innocent anymore.

 

Monsters games are compared to pokemon because pokemon are extremely widely known, making it easy for people to see the connection. But monster racer is compared to pokemon not just because it has different monsters in it, the amount of similarities are a lot. The union center to pokemon center, the pick 3 monsters as starter, star seven to gym leaders(or maybe not =P) and also racers to pokemon trainers in dungeons. But the gameplay is completely different to pokemon and, amazingly, this game is REALLY fun. Forget the fact that it's a rip-off or has a lot of similarities, this game is too good/nice/fun to even be bothered by that fact xD
