I thought i was updating, but i accidently cleared everything

Howdy.
Mmm, well i've been waiting for the Alice In Wonderland game, and Avatar and thought i'd update my R4i (it says v1.4 on the case of it, 8gb) card/cart whatever. And whilst looking through the forum i came across this apparent 'update'. So thinking i'd update my card/cart i followed the links and downloaded this R4i v1.25 Kernel. I cleared my card/cart with exception of my games, and now absolutely nothing comes up. Soon as i click the card/cart it comes up white. Have i buggered up by deleting everything? Can someone please direct me to what i should replace my now failed card/cart with and possibly the latest versions as i really wish to get these new games...

Also buying my girlfriend a card/cart this weekend [2 days away] and i was planning to get her the same as mine, but all these horrible stories about the r4i's going to be faded out, and anti piracy stuff will make them useless with any new roms coming out. WHAAAAT!?! As mine is within warranty i can trade mine in, so can someone give me a solid amount of information for someone who isn't totally 'down' with it. I've tried picking up pieces of information here, but i don't completely get it all. And i'm no closer to deciding other than assuming Acecards are pretty spot on, i assume they're updated and will continue on pretty strong. And with suggestions, maybe their updates sites or something?

Sorry if i'm a hagg, but i'm not an oldy, i'm 23, and love my ds, i just don't really get technical stuff. Thanks for the ears.

If it is R4i Upgrade, it is the link Jhon gave you.

Delete the folders & files:
) R4iMenu
) R4.dat

Optional delete:
) moonshl2
) moonmemo

and put the new firmware on your card.

 

Yeah sorry guys, i hadn't even noticed the r4Li. It didn't click that it would be diffrent.

Downloaded the top file, it says English. Which i most certainly wanted, it doesn't matter i'm using a DSi bought in
Australia no? It's not an Asian model that just needs a patch?

Downloaded fine, unzipped fine. Just copied it all over to my DSi, so i now have these; Games [where i store my roms], moonmemo, moonshl2, R4iMenu, and something just called R4 [which is coming up as a Nero file for me].

But once i open my card/cart it just flashes with a quick black screen then holds on the white. Do i need to get the "firmware" from the second site too? Sorry if that was obvious, i wasn't sure.

Is the webiste not listed on the box your card came in ?, That will be the firmware for your microSd chip...
