It sounds like you need to reinstall your graphic drivers somehow. I think perhaps your screen isn't communicating with your PC. It happened to me and turned out my graphics card was faulty and could not make a connection between my screen and the PC itself. You can't just "do it yourself" I would think. Take it in somewhere for repairs. If it's new better find that pay slip.
probably not happening. If its intermittently not doing the POST (power on self-test) then the board is probably dying. If it is failing the POST (i.e making a sequence of beeps) then we need to know what beep sequence it is (how many long, how many short and whether they are high or low tones) and whether it is an award, american megatrends or pheonix bios (will be displayed on screen at the top left when you turn it on and it works)
This might be a bit late but if you are still trying to fix it try this. Find the Recovery Disk that came with the computer. Put it in the CD drive and start up the computer. You can choose Repair to try and repair the OS or Reinstall to totally reinstall the OS. Neither of these options will impact your data so all your files should be fine when you are done. Your email may need to be imported but other than that everything else should be okay. It is pretty easy to do. Just follow the instructions on the screen. Good luck.
Actually they destroy everything currently on the disk. Recovery CDs restore the disk to the state it was in when the computer left the factory. EVERYTHING will be gone.
I already told you reset the bios.To do it open the case and look at the mainboard and find the little battery.Get the bat out and put it back in.Now you've learned bios reseting.
i did that thing with the battery but it made no diffents.the only thing that it does when you turn it on is the light turn on and the disk drive opens when you press the button
This happened to me. I had to reformat and wait for a Vista installation disc to be posted to me from my brother which took about 2 weeks, and we live 5 hours from each other. That's why I haven't been on lately.
