Yo, it's me again ... i need someone to send me an antivirus because the vitus i have won't let me install Avast If anyone could compress the files and send them to me , it would be very kind of him Thanks in advance
chances are it wont let you install any antivirus. try clamAV from here: http://www.clamwin.com/ Note that this is an on-demand scanner only, there is no resident shield.
i meant that if someone has an antivirus on his pc copy the files and compress them into an RAR so i can extract it
I would first try to install MBAM,and if it doesnt install, look at renaming the .exe etc http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic267354.html You just have to go through set procedures when removing viruses/malware. And how do you know you have a virus, and if you have, what is it called.
Here is a better idea. Back up what's important, then FORMAT your entire pc, then try a anti virus I'd say avg (free is good, but full is better) but a mate of mine was having issues with our one on windows 7, so ESAT does the job
Id say they are both total crap myself.I would only reformat a machine if all else fails and/or its quicker than loading everything backup-than it is to remove the virus/malware.
try using the portable app of clamwin. no install required. (you never know when a virus would attack/block the install)
They are both highly rated by independent testing labs. As for reformatting, sometimes its the easier option. Just goes to show that you should have AV installed and updated before you get a virus, not after.
Not in the review I PM'd you it didnt.Ive read numerous reviews, talk to security experts daily and we come to certain conclusions. My priorities in choosing an AV are Resident shield capabilities Removal qualities Scanning times AVG isnt even in the top 3 free AV apps,Avira,Avast and MSE are rated higher.KIS and NOD32 are the top paid apps, and the OP can blag a free 1 years licence of CBE(which has a Kaspersky engine) via a German Magazine called Computerbilde. AVG was the first AV I ever used and thought it was great. But that was 15 years ago, times change and I dont think they have improved their product enough over that time-which leads to products like Avira shooting well ahead.
System restore is not helpful when it comes to viruses. Mainly just helpful for windows updates and settings, and sometimes drivers. Many viruses will copy themselves into the System Restore files to try and preserve themselves. Once a machine is cleaned, you should delete the system restore points and start fresh.
