i just recently updated my flashcart but the cheats are in japanese...

how do i fix this? or do i have to wait for another update?

 

Well, if your firmware is English, your cheats should be English, you can try adding your own cheats to the database file. Is there some sort of .dat, .xml, .0, etc. file in your firmware somewhere?

 

i found this in TTmenu(folder) reset.mse system.ank system.l2u system.u2l
are any of these the cause of japanese cheats?
on my old flashcart version only some of the games had cheats and it was in english
when i updated it almost all of the games had cheats
maybe i need to update my firmware again?
or do i have to patch it like a game into english?

 

It's your cheat database, get a better one

 

most of the the titles of the cheats in here( a bold + sign inside a square) when you go inside its english but only some. for example pokemon diamond

1015U- (some japanese characters)
when i go inside here>>>1284E- (some japanese characters) its english
and here>>>>>>>>>>>>1284U- (some japanese characters)its english
1015U has english only inside select item select medicine select ball select nature and event modifier i think

maybe 70% of the words in cheats are japanese

and where do i get a better cheat database?

 

No, you shouldn't need to patch to get English cheats, you can try using the database at http://www.cheats.gbatemp.net/, not sure if that will work or not. Make sure to backup all your original cheat file before overwriting it with the new named one. Also, you should be able to use an older firmware's cheat file and put cheats on it, and make it still work with the new firmware.

 

youve helped me out alot so youd probably know i dont understand tech language
so please instruct me step by step and describe and name the programs i will use to to change my cheats to english

 

Basically I'm meaning, download the older firmware version, and use the cheat file provided with that and use it with your current newer firmware (which still should work, and if in English).

Try going to my "How to Add Cheats to R4", it uses the same principle as the DSTT, so I'm sure you could figure out something. Or try editing your own cheat file in your firmware.

and if by edit you mean deleting then copying like a document i can do that

 

No, not deleting them, overwriting etc., but editing the actual values and text inside the cheat file. Try going to http://www.cheats.gbatemp.net/, I'm pretty sure the database works with DSTT.

No, it's not the translation, it's a completely new cheat file which is kept up to date with the latest ROM AR codes. You should be able to rename this file and overwrite the cheat file in your firmware.

Don't have to rename anything, the cheats and the names are ALL in English, so nothing needs changed.
