I just found a site that makes it easier to see if one\'s pc can handle games :)

    http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/

Now THIS is what I always wanted, I feel like an idiot reading the technical specs :(

    http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/analysis.aspx

This is what I got for protype :)

You'd need the latest java and some firewall features disabled to run it.

Not bad eh, now a pc noob like me can go "yep I can run that".

The specs looked ok, but wasn't sure if I could run this, the ram screwed me about...I never knew I had 2GB of ram XD

    Always thought I had one...and 2ghz of cpu speed-turns out I had 1.86 :(

A mate of mine showed me another site...I forgot it but this one has the same general format...any thoughts?

    Is this right?

Since when did a 2.00ghz 9even if dual core) jump to 3.2ghz?

    ???

Just making sure this thing does infact work...

This doesn't work for me with Firefox, I wonder why. I have to do it in Internet Explorer.

What are you doing with a Vista Business edition?

hahaha, my same question with the vista. You need to download the new version of java... they have a link there

I have it since I'm using for java programming required by my school =\

I'll have to settle with IE for this Sys Requirements site.

my only problem is the display size... it has no requirement check.

like the the old age of mythology, it said i pass the recommended specs but when i tried it on, the problem was the display size...

I always shrink mine lower than my screen size...

    It's 1200X XXX...

So I shrink it to 800x 600 XD

That site is utter garbage for determining if you can run a game. There are so many more factors than your specs that determine how well a game will run. I'd use a site like http://www.yougamers.com/ that sizes up your specs a bit better. That site doesn't even tell you if a game is optimized well enough to run(Read: GTA IV)

I've yet to get a bad pass, however it explains (apaprently ) what you might need to buy on top to get it working.

And what your on about is that virtual mark right-looks like it's running the same set up.

I know I have to put everything on low to get my games running anyway.

I Think the same thing THe site isnt accurate many times It may mark your computer as fail and even still the game may run And it doesnt run in firefox for me either

Your complaint is invalid. System requirements lab makes no attempt at determining how well a game will run. All it does is compare your system to the published minimum and recommended specifications provided by the game developer. If those are inaccurate then its the fault of the developer for publishing incorrect specifications.

Works on mine-like in the screen shot.

If I get prototype and it doesn;t work I know who to blame!

    (lucky it's a free copy-friends ftw!)

Yeah, because opinions can be invalid just because? Interesting...

Either way, you may be right, but it doesn't change the fact that the site isn't good. Case in point: GTA IV and ES4: Oblivion. The same could be said of any other site similar to it, taking into account optimization, and how a lot of developers do not spend a decent amount of time putting a game through QA, but I digress.

It's invalid because you're complaining about it not doing something it isn't designed or intended to do.

The last statement is where my "complaint" is stemming from. Of course it just compares your specs with the requirements for a game. I've never denied that much. I've just acknowledged that it's not the best of sites, is all.

Well if I can get 30fps I'm fine with the result...if the cheap games I'm planning to buy (dead space ad assasin's creed) can get those then I'm fine...

    It's a laptop-I don't expect much.

It's a miricle that resident evil 5 worked anyway XD

    [me=mds64]doesn't know what he's trying to say[/me]

    ???

    ...back to gaming then.
