Just swing him around until he is facing up and release him at the roof of the game and he should crash and fall to the stadium head first and give you a golden star and admit his defeat, and you should be able to do this to beat him in one hit. Just thought i'd like to share this with everyone and that it might also work on Super Mario 64 Ds.
