leaving aside MPEG-Streamclip (which sucks horribly w/o perian, hence i'ts the best stuff for mac) and any video converter and real player converter, what are my options? i recently acquired a capture device and i am uploading a sengoku basara 3 run ( ieyasu tokugawa and oda nobunaga an i am finding the quality is rather poor) so i am seeking something good to transform my files and upgrade their quality so to speak (and do not come to me saying tht it cannot be done i used to do that all the time on mac os x with snapz pro x and MPEG stramclip)
You cannot improve the quality by converting it. if the data is not there then tough. You can't make something out of nothing, it is an impossibility. If the quality is not good enough then you need to capture at higher quality.
it generally depends what you want to convert to/from. tmpgenc used to be good until they turned it into a program for idiots, and flaskmpeg is quite often considered good.
i was recomended prism, for video converter, and i will usually be filing on MP4 or avi files, as i am not sure what is the better format
i am still learning the tweeks of this all i used to do was select mp4, 720x320, add my watermark, and MPEG did the rest automatically including increasing the quality of videos, anyhow i usually ask for an MPEG format ask for it to be an .avi and done, usually done with a codec i belive named h.240
I've already said, the quality cannot be increased. anything you do to the video, including converting, will DECREASE the quality. There is no way of increasing it.
