While I'm unsure of where to post this, I am curious as to how I can dump a ROM image. See, I picked up Sands of Destruction from my Gamestop just now and would like to dump the ROM for the site, but don't know how. If someone could direct me to the tools and walk me through it, I'll do it. But my only question is: Would this hurt my actual cart in any way? Edit: One last question, can this be done without an expansion pack?
You need either an expansion pack, or a WiFi connection and FTP server. It just reads the data, really no different than if you were playing the game and your DS reads the data.
I do happen to have a Wifi connection. So, I'll get to work on dumping the ROM right away. Thanks for the reply, Tirith.
If/when you do make a dump of the game, contact Seph (site admin) via PM. Don't just post the rom in the forums. He can provide instructions on what needs to be done.
That's what I planned on doing, but thanks again. Edit: Upon messing with the program for a good half hour or so, I can't seem to get the thing to work the way it needs to, even though I've followed the WiFi tutorial directly. It looks like someone else will have to dump the game.
Are you using a dsi by any chance? The wifi method doesn't work on theose for some reason. I'd reccomend spending the extra cash for an easy 3 in 1 flash cart. Post Merge: [time]1263423305[/time] For ds/dslite only-forgot to say that XD Sorry half asleep.
I tried the guide on the 3 in 1 method and I couldnt get it to work-so I didnt bother. I would only buy the Expansion Pack if you plan to use it for other things,in case it dont work for you either.
