Hey guys.. I was just wondering how the $&#! would you play a FPS on the PSP.

I mean the analog stick and the control pad are on the same side!

It would be great to have somemore infor on this before I spend the 2-6 hours it takes to download one.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Natewlie A bag of tricks

Some games have it so you aim up/down/left/right with the face buttons (O, X, triangle, Square) and you move your guy with the analog nub.

Or kinda like how Golden Eye controlled, you turn and move forward and backwards with the nub and you strafe with Square and Circle, and you aim up and down with Triangle and X.

I prefer having southpaw, where you move my guy with the face buttons and I aim with the nub. That way I get more control over aiming. Most PSP shooters have this option.

Just to add, in order to combat the fact the analog stick and the dpad aren't that responsive, the games use "sticky aim" a fair amount to help with aiming.

You'd be surprised that you can play well, but the sticky aim means heads shots are hard to do...and even then head shots don't count, at least in coded arms 1+2 and resisitance psp.

Those aren't fps...they just have fps aiming mechanics.

It's difficult, but can be done:p FPS games are so much better on the PC with the mouse. Playing FPS on PSP or any other consoles, you need to be quite skilled and experienced and need to have passion for it. Somehow, other than using PC, buttons are somehow strange due to the lack of control especially changing camera angles. Playing it on PC is faster but I know some people can really play FPS on PSP or on consoles, it's just amazing. I mean I sucked:(

A game like doom 1+2 on pc I can deal with, doom 3 or any newer fps I can't do...too many buttons and my hands slip from keyboard positions.

On a console the shape prevents my hands slipping, it's just my lack of skill that is my fault...as for psp it can be done but nothing exciting, ethier you can or you can't play fps on psp.

The only FPS I did was L4Dead, I swear I saw people so skilled playing FPS on the PSP, it's just talent...well at least for me:) So yeah it's true, either you can or can't play fps on PSP or consoles. Good point there.

My first fps was on the n64 (golden eye) so i have console experience, a pc with mouse and keys could give better control...but requires skill to do so.

And after the halo 3 vids I seen of some epics kills...I think I'm way to crappy to bother competing :(
