how to pronounce tomato

    hey this is really random but I'm just really bored so yea lol
    how would you pronounce the word "tomato"???
    do u say to-may-toe
    or to-maa-toe
    or some other random thing lol

    To-maa-toe is how most aussie's say it, and the former is how americans say it.

    Despite my accent, it's one of the few words I prefer the aussie way (or whatever our way originated from)

    I consider the tomato a fruit than a vegetable, I mean, all those seeds...the taste...


    Fruit to me.

    you dont need to consider, tomato is a fruit, but used commonly as a vegetable.

    how can you use a fruit as a vegetable? thats like saying you use a dictionary to help you with your math homework.

    I seen debates, looks at the tomato myself...it has fruit characteristics.

    i've read that post several times and i still cant make heads or tails of it. a tomato (toe-mah-toe) is a fruit, end of discussion.

    the english way is correct in the english language, americans just like to be different

    the german way is correct in the german language, the english just like to be different.

    the french way is correct in the french language, the germans just like to be different.

    the spanish way is correct in the spanish language, the french just like to be different.

    etc etc.

    incorrect, those are different languages, not a bastardisation of English.

    american english is a bastardisation of the queen's english. it is not a distinct language, unlike french, spanish, german etc which are distinct languages.

    americans speak english and its quite clear what i meant.

    Can you clear something up for me, is Queen's English the english that you are speaking now or the english that can be found in your sig. I'm sure you can agree that they are as different if not more so than english and it's americanised cousin.

    queen's english is the english spoken in england, commonly referred to as 'british english'
