    Okay, here's the situation :'(.
    1) downloaded DeSmuNe version 0.7.2 from http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/nds/desmume.html
    2) downloaded NDS files @ https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php/topic,3276.0.html and https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php/topic,3246.0.html
    3) use winrar to unzip both files (diamond and bleach) and no errors reported; use winrar to unzip DeSmuNe; again no errors
    4) open DesMuNe.exe
    5) drag diamond into DesMune app window; nothing happens
    6) dragon bleach into DesMune app window; nothing happens
    7) used OPEN on DesMune for both files; nothing happens
    8) opened up DesMune version 0.4.0 downloaded earlier and repeat steps 5 to 7; nothing happens
    9) am I doing something wrong?

My computer is an HP Pavilion a720n. 512MB ram, 2.2GHz CPU, hard drive 500GB+ running Windows XP Home 2003 Edition.
If you can help, thanks ;D. I think maybe you're not supposed to use the NDS files I downloaded on emulators? ???

DeSmuNe is not a terribly compatable emulator, try No$GBA or IDeaS instead.

:Dwow thanks man. IDeaS works better than DesMuNe. But now I have a prob with the game speed. kind of slow. do you think it's just my PC specs?

more likely it's just that NDS emulation isn't very good yet

however, the better your pc is, the faster it's going to be... ad not slightly, it can increase about 10% the game speed...

... you have 500+ GB, yet you only invested in a 512MB Ram?

Upgrade and invest in a 2GB+ Ram. It's worth the money and you can run anything on it (almost... depends on your graphics card too).

512 is pretty much bare-bones in today's technology pool. You can play NDS games far better and whatever else you do on your comp will run faster too.

Buy a flash cart. Playing Pokemon D/P is TERRIBLY slow when it's emulated on the PC. Oh, and you need a patch for that to play it on no$GBA.

    about that...

we use emulation because it's cheaper... the point of emulation is getting what we like and keep our money...
a nds game being slow is normal... and maybe your pc isn't very good... a friend of mine has a pc with 4 times the specs mine has (except the processor...), and the speed increase about 15%-20%...
and last but not least, you really don't need a patch... no$gba version 2.5c emulates pokemon pearl/diamond pretty well... ingame saving is working plainly...

No, actually, the point is to enable people to develop games without expensive developer hardware.

well, at least, that's what i use emulation for...

But...still the game lacks speed ...mostly the speed lacks outside when you are roaming around the city or something. The new version of no$gba has some good new improvements andd though the games still play reluctantly.

every emulator and game lacks game speed, as long as the game has 3d scenarios...

it doesn't mean it can't change in the blink of an eye, though...

... So you apply yourself to everyone and everything else?

Emulation has a single purpose: get and play games for free. Instead of paying full price on games that can potentially suck and be a waste of money, you go and download it for free. Similar to all forms of p2p movies, music, and a variety of other 'shared' files, they are all considered stealing what you don't want to pay for.

... Developing games is far from he 'purpose' of an emulator (if you can actually claim that there is a purpose for it...)

    learn it...

for (maybe) the thousandth time in this world, if you have the .rar file, extract it and you'll probably get a .nds file... then, get the emulator no$gba 2.5c, it's probably a .rar file, extract it and run the file which image looks like an ''A''... select the file you want to open, and probably, a message will show saying ''the data could not be read...''...
