download imgburn and run, then use the 'create image from disc' button should work. If not, clonecd will.

Make sure it's not too scratched, sometimes imgburn doesn't make a good image with a really scratched up disc. Obvious.

Okay, this solution for making DVD images works well with just about anything emulator or ROM-wise

    1. Get image creating software. imgburn works well, a few others are Alcohol 120% and 52%, CloneCD, Blindwrite, and several more... Essentially, what they do is create a virtual image of the actual media they are copying, thus allowing you to use them on a computer in exchange for actual physical media in the disc drive.

Most image making software has trialware associated with it, so you cannot use it after a certain number of days. However, I have found that Alcohol-Soft has released Alcohol 52% as freeware. Though not as powerful as it's aforementioned predecessor, it is still decent for making the proper images.

    2. Use image creating software to create a virtual image of the physical media. There are manuals and help wizards that allow the uninitiated to create their own images that come with the software, simply run one of these wizards and the program will do the rest. Be aware, however, that most Game and Movie discs have some measure of copy protection along with them.

Do not panic at this mention. Most image creators also act as CD- or DVD-ROM drives and will emulate the protections of these media if the images are created correctly. This entails reading the material to find out how to emulate these protections, as the process is different with the different programs.

    3. After you have created the virtual image of whatever it is you are trying to rip, you will need to "mount" the image within a virtual drive. The aforementioned Alcohol 52% has a built in virtual drive emulator, thus allowing you to mount the image you just created into the drive it creates after install and initialization.

I use Daemontools because it is more computer friendly, meaning that if done right, you can mount the image and the computer will not care whether or not the disc is actual or emulated, it will simply run the disc.

This is a rather broad FAQ of how to create a drive, but i will be monitoring this forum post to see if there are questions and/or specific concerns about these techniques.

nbadell, use ImgBurn to do everything :) Once you've uploaded the files, post them in the suitable section at the Trading Station.

the whole point of DVD copying for movies is to burn it to another DVD. I wouldn't recommend keeping 6-8 GB of a DVD movie on your computer.
Also, use DVD shrink and set it to make an image (ISO) and it will make and compress an image which you can burn to a DVD5 (not a DVD9). DVD5 is the standard 4.7 GB DVD-R.

every time i try to make a image file or copy it, the program ( DVD shrink).

You need a DVD drive for DVDs.. And plus, the PSX authentic disc you have is a CD..
