how to make a usb drive be recognised as a CD/DVD drive?

    is there any way i could get a USB drive be recognised as a CD/DVD rom?
    or a way to make a iso run from a USB drive when inserted into a computer?

    Well, you can use Alcohol 52% to make an ISO to run on a computer.

    It can run off of a flashdrive as well.

    you can put an iso on a flash drive and mount it with daemon tools

    no you cannot change the device type.

    There should be away to imitate those USB CD/DVD drives using an external HDD and run a script with autorun. You might need to find/write a script that uses a driver to do this.

    hard disks can have autoruns but there needs to be a registry change on the computer to actually use them.

    it would be much easier to mount the iso from the usb drive...
    Unless of course you wanted to make it a bootable disk, then you would have to use some program that I can't remember.
