How to get Wood R4 working on your R4 SDHC

    Wood R4 doesn't work on R4 SDHC due to saving problems! Please consider using YSMenu instead of Wood R4.

    This will show how to get the Wood R4 working on your R4 SDHC (and possible other clones).

    Steps:
    - Format your card
    - Put your ORIGINAL firmware on it (or you can use a patched version of the R4 SDHC kernel I made)
    - Put the Wood R4 firmware on it
    - Run the .nds file
    - Have fun!

    Also: if you reset, it will reset back to the original firmware, not to the Wood R4 one.

    I can get modifying these files, but I do not think it will come out good.

    Well, lets try.

    Post Merge: [time]1271448895[/time]

    Just a quick modify...

    Keep your NDS file, but delete the _rpg folder...

    I've made a few changes to the settings and the Zelda layout is deleted...

    Also I've created a possible solution for the save file corruption... EDIT: No it didn't... Maybe someone else will create a fix...

    Wow, TLOZ - ST gives the message on a very rough way...

    You can find a batch renamer on filetrip.net somewhere to rename all your savs to .nds.savs

    Wow, Wood got the games I wanted to play working. I was not expecting that. But what I really was expecting was it to save but it didn't. Oh.. the pain :'(

    Yeah, Wood seemed to get past the AP on games, but can't save on any. Getting closer though. It shouldn't be long before it works %100.

    i get a white screen on every game after loading, im using r4 iii upgrade, with r4 original firmware 1.18

    Just a couple of things:

    This has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter, make your own thread for your issue. Also, why are you using original R4 firmware on that card. That is nowhere near an original R4, so I highly doubt that firmware is compatible. Go to http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ and find your specific card on the list. Get the most recent firmware for your card. Every R4 is different.

    wood r4 Help

    I have been sat here for the last 2 days trying desperately to get this to work, and still cant do it, i have a R4 revolution for ds it then has a sdhc next to the R4, the original firmware i had was v1.24, i stupidly deleted it when trying to add the wood 4 clone firmware not knowing it had to be added to the firmware already on the card, any way i have formatted the card and reloaded firmware 1.24 put on wood 4 and the load me file which i believe is the .nds file which everyone keeps talking about and it still comes up with the loading hanging, I fear now that I have knacked my chip and am seriously thinking of buying a acekard?? Can any one help, I have searched the forums but don't understand most of what people suggest,

    anyhelp would be appreciated, as this is for my little boy who wants to play all of the ones he cant,

    I await with anticipation

    the save problem for clones seems to be very complicated to solve,i think woodr4 for clones project is dead!

    It isn't dead until people completely give up. It is going to take some pretty mad skills though to get this firmware operating correctly on clones, as the original firmware it is based off of was designed for the Acekard, and was (probably heavily) modified to work on even the original R4.

    even tough i think that no one with experience on that kind of problems will want to waste their time fixing this for R4 clones,which is sad...
