Hi All, I have been a user for quite along time but have always just read the topics in the forum as usually you can Always find the answer to your question. I have lately just started to post on the forum and was wondering how do you get a picture under your name in the forum? Can someone explain how to do it and where to get the pics. Thanks in Advance and also to Romulation as this site Rocks.
Click on "Profile" Then go to "Forum Profile" There will be a field called: I have my own pic: Specify your own avatar by URL. (ex: http://www.mypage.com/mypic.gif) In that field, put the URL (webpage address) of your avatar image. You will need to upload your own images to an image host like www.imageshack.us
Yep,I use photobucket.So 1.open account at photobucket(make album private) 2.upload a/any picture to your album by clicking on the "upload images" button(I save them at 15") 3.under the uploaded piccy,there is a box with 4 x options.This site needs you to copy the 2nd one down(Direct Link),other sites are usually different. 4.in your Romulation account profile,you paste the link(the one you copied) into the "I have my own picture" and your piccy appears as an avatar. Sometimes you have to change the size of the picture your inserting like 100 x 80,but I think this site does it automatically LOL
Even if a site automatically resizes the image for you should resize it yourself instead, even using something easy like MSPaint. Auto-resizing can distort the image or blend pixels together, and will likely still leave the image the full file size, so if you have a particularly large image, your avatar may take longer to load.
