Im in college, and one of my professors is just a total jerk to me. idk why, rly, but she is. were doing this project, and we had to bring in a controversial ad, and i brought in several (since she had rejected my one before), and she said "I dont think you really get what this project is all about." I GET IT FULLY!! we hafta find an ad that implies things about US culture, and then write a 1k word min paper. im so desperate im looking up sexist ads, and i sent her 10 links to see if she actually thinks i know what ta do. aaaaaaaaanyways, any good ideas of how i can get rid of the feelings of wanting to slaughter her? i know, try and be optimistic cuz this 8th circle of hell only lasts till 12-17, then i dont hafta put up w her anymore, but what are some more immediate things?
That's how instructors are most of the time, giving younglings a difficult time. Some other topics that are controversial would hold true if most of the ads you are looking for were not sexist in ways that might not offend her personally. But other advertisements that seem controversial are like...what? May be teen-pregnancy ads, misleading car ads, cutting down natural habitats, wildlife preserves, or alcoholic beverages that make it seem alright to intoxicate yourself...or military ads. As for culture you could do something that involves patriotism. I suppose you could try doing jumping jacks or run a mile or listen to some music, but whenever I am pissed off I usually lift weights to blow off some steam. Don't worry yourself too much.
oops sorry for the bad phrasing. just any ad with controversial content. we watched a lame video thats relevant called killing us softly 4. well, most of those ads were either racist or sexist, so i decided to take the sexist part and just run w it. if none of the ads i sent her work, ill be sooooooo unbelievably pissed. and jes' a side note: shes the only one being near impossible to me. the other classes are going just fine. also, it seems im the only one in my class who she hates. as far as i know, everyone else had their first ad approved.
I see that's alright. Since sexism is the topic you need to correlate this with modern art as well. It would be a different approach, but it has some pretty useful topics like identity, tradition, and gender roles. Sorry if I seem like I am not helping. Freakin' edit: That reminds me of the utter crap television airs these days. Sometimes too much is too much. Choose something similar to your peers, so she won't reject it.

simply put, i did. i srsly think she hates me, cuz one time in class we did these letters of complaint, and when we handed them to her, i had assumed she was gonna mail them w/out anyone retyping, and so i said that i needed to reprint it, and she said something like "noooooot something to be talking to me in class about." yeah shes a teacher, and yeah i know theres a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff w teaching, but she could at least grade our papers in a semi-timely manner!! Barring you being able to get a different teacher, you're probably gonna have to suck it up. Try asking her questions about what she specifically wants out of you. If she doesn't think you're getting it, then ask her what she wants you to get.
sadly, now its impossible to add/drop classes w/out penalty. denngit!! i wish i woulda thought about just switching my college writing classes!! (cw is wone of the required classes)
yay!! in another class, the teacher of that class had in some students of hers to talk about their freshman years. well, after they had said some things, we were allowed to ask them questions. i asked if the college writing professor typically singles people out. well, i now know that im not alone!!
