How to check r4 firmware?

    Sorry, but I'm unaware on how to view which firmware I currently have on my r4, I totally forgot. It would be great if someone could tell me how to check. Thanks in advance. :D

    Go on google and find a matching image to your r4 type

    Then post url hear to the one you have

    If it is a R4 original then try WoodR4 v1.31 are YSMenu build 4 R4 original

    that's mine, version III upgrade
    so i guess my firmware would be: R4-III v3.11 kernel, correct?

    Not necessarily running on v.3.11 kernel, depending on when you did your latest update for the R4's kernel. Try searching through your R4's files to find out. But you can ignore it actually. Just install YSMENU/TTMENU as secondary firmware for it to run the latest games. Ask John how to install it. But you will basically need to use the folder for R4 clones in the YSMENU/TTMENU download:
    Either of these folder content;
    1. Use DSTT_DSTTi TTMenu or DSTT_DSTTi YSMenu folder
    2. Use R4-SDHC_R4i-SDHC TTMenu folder
    3. Use R4_Clone YSMenu folder

    Should be but no idea if YSMenu would work on it to play the lastest ROM's

    Check RGF Multicart Update Compatibility List http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=43121.0

    EDIT: Keep your original firmware and read the instructions in RGF files on how to use them

    I recently downloaded Professor Layton and the Unwound future which came out not too long ago and although I didn't play it much it has been working flawlessly thus far, I've been wanting to see if I could play Pokemon Soul Silver but from what I heard it hasn't had much luck on the R4 and that is why I wanted to check my firmware.

    What is the issue with your firmware ?, The patch only fixes the freezing issue.

    I read on the topic and apparently those roms are prepatched so I am off to try it out now. Thanks for your help Jhon!
