How many of us are/have gaming parents?

So, i am a father of a 7 year old girl, and a 2 month old boy.
I still enjoy my videogames, especially RPG's.
My 7 year old also loves her DS, she has a GameCube, and will get a Wii for X-mas.
As for me, i got a PS2, want a PS3, but i won't get it.
Still, i play more on the pc, with emulators.
What i want to know is how many of us here are old farts with kids, and how many kids here have old timers like me who enjoy their videogames.

I can't give you an exact amount, but there are more than you think

And those kids must be pretty lucky ^^;

My mom's the one who got me into games... Atari, Nes, Snes, pc stuff. =D She rocks zelda

I'll still be playing games when I have kids and my b/f has a kid (3) and he's plays games on the 360!

As much as i would love to have gaming parents that LOVE games like COD and NFS, i ave a guitar hero mom. I taught her how to play GH world tour on drums a couple weeks ago, she's on hard now. My dads not realy the one to use anything more electronic then a T.V., he's not the gaming type.

I also got my daughter into games, but the DS, she asked for that all on her own, lol.

Your dad sounds a lot like mine.
And even with the tv, don't ask him to anything but change channels or tone it up or down.

my mom and dad loved to play video games when they were my age. did you know that my dad beat mike tyson on punch-out!!

 

My Mum loves playing her simulation and puzzle games. She's a "The Sims" pro and has been playing that since it was first released. The good thing about having a Mother that likes gaming herself is that she understands why I play them and I also usually don't have to pay for the games I want. LOL

My Dad isn't really into games, but I still sometimes get to force him onto Wii Sports, a Racing game or even let him do a bit of gambling for me in Pokemon.

I guess the next generation will have even more, and so on...

 

Yep, very true! I know I'll be getting my Children into gaming very quickly. What a lot of people don't realise is that playing Video Games is actually a way of using that brain of yours.

My daughter loves to watch me play RPG's, and she even tries to read the conversations and stuff.
And actually playing makes her think.

 

I'm a father of 5 and I am the gamer of the crew, 2 of the kids seem to be following my footsteps, and the rest are like "meh."

For the other three, you could always put them in summer school, until they vow to start liking videogames.J/K

It's cool to see so many parents are gamers.
Back in my day, no parents would play any games.
Especially where i lived, in a small town in Portugal.

My Father loves to play PGA Tour, although I'm the one who always beat him.

Well, mother like some puzzle games.

 

I grew up watching my mum and being amazing on games like; Final fantasy, Silent Hill, Resident evil and tomb raider.
She still plays my xbox 360 a lot and my DS occasionally, annoys me when she complets games before me while I'm at college.

 

my mom will play pacman on my dsi, psp, or wii sometimes. but other than that, she doesn't really do much.....

wish my parents were more into gaming though.
